Welcome! In order to help you plan and organize your scholarship application process we have organized information into three main sections - additional application materials and resources have been uploaded below these sections:
1. Local Interest Scholarships - These pages are organized according to the date recurring scholarship applications are typically due - these dates may change year to year, so be sure that you check back the link to the scholarship website often for updated deadlines/application materials. We have prioritized scholarships available locally or of local interest, but we have also included some nationally available scholarships.
As we become aware of new scholarships that have become available, we will add them to these pages and you should receive an email from Mrs. Borschneck. If you are not receiving these, please contact her: joelene.borschneck@lskysd.ca.
2. Additional Scholarship Databases/Resources - This section provides a list of databases that might help you locate scholarships tailored to your future plans. If you are interested in looking into further specialized scholarship and grant opportunities, you may want to use these links to help you find scholarships meant specifically for your program and/or interests.

3. Application Development Material
A couple of pointers about preparing to apply for scholarships. It's a really good idea to have a variety of reference letters on hand so that you can attach the one that suits the scholarship the best. Here are some possible references that you could have on file:
- teachers or principal
- coaches or club advisors (school or community)
- community leaders (could be your parish leader, volunteer organization that you work with, etc)
- former or current employer
- Also, when you are filling out the Student Involvement Checklist (see the attachment above), be sure to put in as much detail as possible. This is not the time to be modest....you need to include everything and anything that might be useful to get that scholarship or for a person to use to write a really compelling reference letter. Don't be afraid to shine on that document by including all awards, activities, accomplishments, etc.
